Abstract

Cenchrus ciliaris L. plants growing in a lath house were subjected to 3 clipping frequency and 2 clipping intensity treatments in a complete factorial experiment. Plants which had 30% foliage removed every month produced the greatest herbage yields while plants that had 60% removed every 2 weeks produced the least. Herbage yield and tiller regrowth immediately after the clipping experiment were greatest for plants which had not been clipped and least for the biweekly-clipped plants.
