Fourteen legume accessions were grown for 3 years on a solodic soil and a black cracking clay, both subject to seasonal flooding. Glenn American jointvetch (Aeschynome americana cv Glenn) grew well on both soils over 3 years. The twining legume Macroptilium longipedunculatum CPI 62158 grew and spread, well on the solodic soil and is recommended for further evaluation in this situation.
